Meet Sergei Matveyuk

SERGEI MATVEYUK grew up under the communist regime in the USSR. His father and grandfather were imprisoned in the Gulag for opposing communist tyranny and refusing to support the regime. The State confiscated his family’s property and assets, leaving his grandmother to raise young children with no resources. Sergei himself faced relentless oppression and discrimination throughout his life in the Soviet Union.

Sergei legally immigrated to the United States in 1989 with only $90 in his pocket. Since then, he has fully embraced the American Dream: he became a U.S. citizen, earned a business degree from a prominent University in Colorado (CCU, 1995) and built a successful business. He is happily married and is raising three children with his wife.

Driven by his personal life experience, Sergei ran as a Republican for United States Congress in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District in 2024, centering his campaign on the dangers of socialism. He wrote this book because he believes that when it comes to defending freedom, silence is complicity.
